Ford vs Yarde scrapped
Saturday, September 16 was supposed to be the biggest night in the short boxing career of Ryan Ford.
The Edmonton native was scheduled to take on rising British light heavyweight Anthony Yarde in a fight that would have launched one of them closer to world title contention.
Instead, the fight appears to be off.
While there has been no comment from promoter Frank Warren, Ford took to Instagram on August 25 to announce that the fight has been scrapped, citing a contractual dispute.
Ford did not specify what the dispute was or how a dispute could have come up just three weeks before the fight, which was originally announced early in the summer.
Reporter Phillipe St-Martin and BestBoxingBlog.com's Dustin Alexander took to Twitter to say that Ford is now likely to compete on Rixa Promotions event, scheduled for September 9 in Montreal. Neither Rixa Promotions or Ford have confirmed.
Frank Warren did not respond to request for confirmation of the cancelled fight. CanFight will continue to cover this story.
